ART is for
the
birds

Our first exhibition entitled (Everyday) Art Is for the birds is a living sculpture that bridges art and nature - a Brutalist - inspired bird feeder that doubles as a daily exhibition space. Two e-ink screens display artwork from Lance Weiler’s 1,095 piece Everyday Art series (2021–2024), a monumental practice in which the artist created one new piece of art every single day for three years.

Every 24 hours, the bird feeder quietly updates, revealing a new work from the archive. One screen displays the title and day number - a simple, minimalist label - while the other screen presents the artwork itself. Birds feed, rest, and sing around it, turning the act of viewing into a shared experience between species.

The sculpture is made from recycled 3D-printed materials designed to mimic cast concrete, giving it the weight and texture of Brutalist architecture while remaining lightweight and weather-resistant. Every detail - from the layout of the screens to the balance of form and function - has been designed to feel both timeless and strangely modern, a small monument to persistence and creativity.

At its core, (Everyday) Art Is for the birds is a meditation on time, attention, and ritual. It extends the spirit of Weiler’s original Everyday Art practice into the outdoors, transforming the birdhouse into a site of quiet reflection - an art space for both humans and birds.

It’s a small act of generosity - a reminder that art, like nature, can unfold slowly, quietly, and in unexpected places.
